PosFox shops are On-page SEO friendly

What is on-page SEO? Why is it important?

On-page optimization is essential for a good search engine ranking. It consists of the website’s content and code optimization to improve its visibility in search engines. It’s one of the most important steps in SEO (Search Engine Optimization), but it can be difficult to do well. If you’re not careful, you may create an unreadable website that doesn’t rank well due to poor user experience.

We’re excited to announce that we’ve added additional optimization for pages on the PosFox marketplace. This new feature allows merchants to better optimize their listing pages for SEO, which means more traffic from search engines and higher conversion rates. Here’s what we’ve improved.

Page optimization from pagination

Pagination is a process that divides a website’s content across a series of pages. As you know Google does use the link element to index content but if you have pagination issues then this will put a negative impact on your site. No worries here. Our developers have developed the websites according to the best practices and requirements of Google. You shouldn’t have to worry about URLs or redirects, or even configure a process to manage them. Redirection is automatically applied when pages move, so you can focus on your content.

PWA

Progressive web applications (PWAs) are the next step in the evolution of websites. Created using modern web technologies, PWAs harness new features in browsers to bring the best possible experience for users with access to modern devices. PWAs are responsive and feel like a native app on any platform, no matter what type of browser your customers use or what device they have.

Bread crumbs

Breadcrumbs help users understand their location on a page and how it relates to other pages. They are typically set in a horizontal format alongside the main content and are formatted as an outline.

A website’s breadcrumbs are often one of the first things visitors see on a page and they’re used to help guide visitors through the site and tell them where exactly they are in the site structure. Not only do they make navigation easier, but having them can also lead to positive SEO benefits and encourage visitors to stay longer on your site. All pages on Posfox websites have breadcrumbs according to the best SEO practices.

Configure user-friendly URL addresses (SEF addresses)

Our websites are designed according to the SEO requirements of the SEO companies.  All URLs on our websites are SEF addresses, which means they are easy to read both for humans and search engines. Search engine spiders easily crawl these sites, understanding the content of this URL structure and indexing them appropriately.

Creating an XML sitemap

XML Sitemaps are a critical part of search engine optimization. They provide an easy way for crawlers to find and index your website pages and can help reduce crawling duration by prioritizing important pages first.

We have created a special sitemap that only contains pages that are allowed for indexing. Pages with the meta tag “noindex” or pages that are excluded by disallowing in robots.txt will not be included in the XML sitemap. Also, in order to make it easier for Googlebot, stores with more than 10,000 products will be divided into several small maps in order to help Google crawl them faster. The sitemap is automatically updated regularly.

Robots.txt file

Robots.txt files are used by website publishers to instruct search engine bots (such as Googlebot) about which files on their website they should (or shouldn’t) crawl and index. They are part of the Robots Exclusion Protocol (REP), which is a set of web standards that regulate how search engines crawl the web, access and index content, and serve that content up to users. By default, the robots.txt file is located in your website’s top-level directory. All shop owners and respectfully their SEO agencies have access to the file through the shop admin panel.

404 error page

Everyone has come across a 404 page while surfing the web, but what exactly is it? 404 pages are important to your site. They let your users know that the page they requested is unavailable or doesn’t exist. The 404 error page on a requested URL does not redirect. It returns a “404 Not Found” response from the server if the user is on such a page. 404 errors can result when pages are moved or deleted or when URLs are mistyped. A poorly coded 404 page can result in customers leaving your site, and lead to a bad user experience but it can be used to redirect your visitors to other pages or even search results on your website. We’ve taken this into the matter and we’ve built one well-constructed 404 page so that you can redirect users to another page on your website instead of losing them if they close the window.

Code optimization and site loading speed

When it comes to your website, the slower the response times are, the more likely your visitors will be to bounce away. A lot of people think that Google is a search engine and not a giant website itself. As a result, when you’re trying to rank well in Google search results, you need to optimize for fast-loading pages. And by doing that you also improve user experience and generate additional revenue from increased engagement and sales from customers who stick around longer. According to a number of studies, instant website response leads to higher rates per conversion, and every 1 second page load delay decreases customer satisfaction by 16%, page views by 11%, and rates of realization by 7%.

Here are some of the things we’ve done to help you accomplish a faster site:

  • Optimized site code
  • Implemented image compression – Our system will compress images but does not affect their quality. This guarantees that your website will load faster and the images will look great.
  • Implemented CDN – CDNs are one of the easiest ways to improve your site’s loading speed. A CDN service works by figuring out where your visitor is physically located… and then serving up your site’s resources from a server close to them.
  • Reduced HTTP requests
  • API caching
  • Optimized page speed metrics

Structure of page titles

The page titles often called “title tags”, “meta titles” or sometimes “SEO title”,  is an HTML code tag that allows you to give a web page a title. In order to rank well in the search engines and make your website more visible, it’s crucial to add and optimize your site’s title tags. Your title tag should be descriptive of the content on the page – giving searchers what they’re looking for at a glance.

There are set standards for the number of characters to make titles as optimal as possible for SEO search engines. Every admin will see the recommended lengths while writing a title and can easily adjust it afterward.

 Image optimization

Why is image optimization so important for a website?

Image optimization is important for speed and SEO. A slow website can be detrimental to the user experience, as well as your search engine rankings if it is loading slowly. By optimizing images on your site, you will ensure that your photos are smaller in size and load faster on your site. It’s also beneficial from an SEO perspective because image search is becoming increasingly more popular, so more people are searching for content in image form than ever before. There are several key points related to image optimization:

    • Choose the right file type – whether it’s png, jpeg, or another it’s up to you. For large, high-resolution images and illustrations we recommend that you use a .png file. To preserve transparent backgrounds, use the PNG format. For logos and icons, we recommend the SVG format because it preserves curves.
    • Name your images – When you upload an image to Google, we want to know what it is about without even looking at it. And that’s names purpose. The most important thing is to use keywords in images names that are relevant to your website
    • Reduce image size – If you’re running a small business that relies on search engine traffic and conversions, you want to make sure your website is serving images in the smallest file size possible. We’ve implemented image compression that will automatically reduce the size of your images
    • Added image structure data – Structured data helps Google understand your images and display them as rich results, making it easier for your visitors to find the content they need.

Alt and title attributes for images

The alt image tag is an essential part of your website’s SEO strategy because it helps search engines determine which image searches to show, and they often affect how users interact with your website. ALT tags are sometimes used to tell people who have visual impairments what your images are, but search engines also use them to determine ranking in image searches, as well as a website’s organic ranking. You do not have to worry about filling in the alt and title attributes in the images. PosFox automatically adds them, so that you do not lose positions in the search engines. Although we add them automatically we strictly suggest you add them yourself for better optimization.

Structuring information for search engines

Structured data describes the content of your pages so that search engines can correctly categorize them. This means that you can use appropriate HTML tags or Microdata to tag certain content so that it can appear richer in search results. To do this, we’ve added a Schema.org property and value pairs to web pages. Here are some examples of structured data PosFox support.

  • Microformats for bread crumbs
A breadcrumb trail is a menu of the pages you navigate to in order to return to the homepage. It allows users to retrace their steps when they are lost. Breadcrumbs are good for SEO. they help the bot spiders during the crawling and may be used by them to gather more information for your website. All PosFox websites have a full breadcrumb structure, no matter how many products you add or pages you create.
  • Structure data markup for FAQ of categories

Properly marked FAQs may appear as rich results on search engine results pages.  FAQ-rich snippets are also beneficial since they allow users to interact with your site, which can potentially lead to increased sales

  • Microformats for products
Display price information in the SERP

  • Structure data markup for products with a review
Display product reviews in the SERP

  • Structure data markup for video

  • Company logo microformats

  • Structure data markup for blog articles

URLs structure

The way you structure your URLs is an important part of how your users experience your site. It’s also an important factor when Google and other search engines crawl through your content. Clean URLs allow you to optimize your website’s pages in order to maximize their searchability and shareability. By creating a clean URL structure, your site will be more easily indexed by search engines and optimized for social media sharing.
